KARE's Postharvest facilities include:

  • 1 gas analysis instrument room
  • 3 offices
  • 6 internal, controlled temperature and relative humidity rooms
  • 6 internal, controlled temperature rooms with controlled atmospheres
  • 5 medium size controlled temperature and relative humidity rooms 
  • 4 external, controlled temperature and relative humidity rooms 
  • 4 small, controlled temperature chambers
  • Computer control and monitoring by Automated Logic Controls
  • 2 gas mixing boards
  • 3 ovens for drying samples
  • A research washer/waxer post harvest treater
  • Assorted fruit quality testing equipment
